NSM at Steer Enterprises Ltd.

Steer Enterprises Ltd. has always and will always be a grass roots business with one purpose- to serve the local community and provide services that customers would otherwise have to travel to urban centres to obtain. In February 2021, we became certified through Transport Canada as a National Safety Mark certified Final Manufacturer of Body & Equipment. This designation means that we are able to complete upgrades to Non-Spif trucks to make them compliant, install dump boxes & bodies to new and used trucks and more!

Body Installs

One of the most exciting areas of our fabrication department is installing dump boxes- having the opportunity to make our mark on a new truck or restore an old girl to her former glory! We work with some of the best body manufacturers in the business to ensure our customers can be happy with their install for years down the road!

What is SPIF?

From 2000 to 2010, the Government of Ontario implemented new Vehicle Weight and Dimension Limits, designed to allow commercial vehicles to operate more productively on Ontario roads while also protecting the roads and infrastructure.

For most trailers and straight trucks operating in Ontario, the biggest change as a result the SPIF regulation is the implementation of steerable lift axles, and removal of lift axle controls from the cab of trucks.
